Two more dumpster find boomboxes. In April there was a JVC RC-ST1 which even had the remote control - but missing a cassette button. The mode select knob was laying on the ground. I left it all alone In May a better Koss egg was at the other dumspter, model on the back but forgot to take a picture. I took this one in and cleaned it up. Radio worked. CD actually played but with much seeking and stalling. Cassette turned but loose belt. Took apart and replaced belt and got cassette playing ok. CD mechanism seemed ok, greased and oiled, but still could not play past track 4. Calibration shifted from factory settings? Garbage CD mechanism... amazing it could even function at all,, even new, after leaving the factory The CD lid catch and release button were 100% plastic. Even with an all plastic "spring" which crumbled. So then the lid would not stay closed. What depressing junk. Threw the whole thing back into the trash where it belonged.
The highly collectible holy grails of the future! Maybe Even with the remote! Do they need a recap already?
