47 years ago this classic album was released today! Yep 1975 this was blasting on every AIWA TRC. I love these HD videos from the 70's, there seems to be much more interest in uploading them now, especially by the bands.

48 years ago today, Deep Purple with new singer David Coverdale released the Burn Album. Here's a cool official video from the album, for you youngsters, they didn't allow cameras or video in concerts back then so seeing a band playing outside of live was difficult.

I saw the Scorpions a lot of times in the 80's-2000's, they always put on a great show and mixed up the songs alot unlike bands like Bon Jovi who seemed to sing the same stuff everytime. I heard this intro on the video Radio posted above, the Scorpions always had highly identifiable openings.

The week of March 11th 1978, one of the greatest rock albums of all time was released, Van Halen I! 45 years ago! Albums starting around this time ushered in track lists where you could listen to every song and enjoy it, they always threw in one marginal song, I think that was for the concert bathroom break but that's never been confirmed. Starting with the thumping opening to Running with the Devil, this album was in everyone's collection. This was the first boombox music I ever heard, someone brought one to the ice rink, we were walking around the mezzanine and heard the unmistakeable VHI coming from around the corner, I can only guess at the time the huge boombox was a JVC.

I listen to just about everything, there were some great bands and music from every genre at that time, we got blitzed with good music for about 10 solid years, then the marketing gods came in and copied & pasted everything. I think some of these bands had longer legs becuase we weren't so exposed to them, 2-3 years in the studio, album, tour then they disappeared for a few years.

I can't even tell you who the biggest band in the world is now? For ticket sales, maybe Metallica and Taylor Swift? It's sad that nobody else is even close over the last 20 years.
