A video all about factory production of what was the 1970s most complicated home consumer device the VCR. I don't think I have ever seen a video that goes into such detail about each stage of both the design and production process. Mechanical parts and PCBs. Interesting to see all the drawing office shots. That is what it was like when I started work in 1978 the year this film was made. If it doesn't come across in the link I used the Youtube settings to get autogenerated English subtitles.
A newer photo of the modern Marantz Factory, I think this one is into computer electronic components with zero audio stuff.
Soulnote was created from the remnants of Marantz Japan, there's some neat factory photos in the link. It's wild seeing how complicated the new audio is and this factory is spit-shine clean. https://www.monoandstereo.com/soulnote-miyako-marantz-factory-tour/
We have some cool old factories around here, one of the closest to me is Magneplanar! Home of the flat speakers, this is just the front office portion of the building, it goes back much further but still not huge.
This was in Stereo Magazine (Russia) which I can't read. Recoton used to make a ton of accessories like CD cleaners and tape winders. They tried buying out the company I was at years ago. I didn't know they were so big.
Don't forget Cassette2go's Thread with killer boombox store photos in Akihabara. https://stereo2go.com/forums/thread...pics-of-stuff-he-could-not-afford.7106/page-1
No idea where this came from, just going through old computer folders, had to check James' Thread to make sure it wasn't his.... I'm pretty sure I see few Marantz's sprinkled in here.
Found in a Puerto Rico Newspaper, looks like a fun place to shop back in 1982, chekc out all the boomboxes!
