Hey everybody! I used to be pretty big into vinyl, but fell out of it about a decade ago. Now I'm getting back, mostly into cassettes after finding out how many awesome new artists are releasing on cassette. I have a decent lower-mid range Panasonic AIO setup I'm setting back up (SU 363 Amp, RS-363 Double Cassette Deck, etc), with a Kenwood KD-2055 turntable sittin proudly on top. Now I'm looking to add a Walkman or two to my setup. It's great to be back in the community!

Welcome CapnCLASX, that's a nice looking turntable. It's cool that bands are releasing cassettes again, selling millions of downloads might be nice but if I was in a band, selling millions of albums would be much better. We've watched the current cassette explosion up close from the front seats and it's amazing. I feel sorry for the 8-track guys I don't think anybody wants that format to come back except for historical reasons.

That Kenwood sounds really good too! I'm excited to get it out of storage and set back up soon. Funnily enough, I did find one band on Bandcamp crazy enough to release an 8-track. I'd be tempted to buy it if I had an 8-track player.

There's some 8-track boomboxes that might be the best way to go if you need a player, I've got one and a Roberts 8-Track Deck, that will also tape, but I haven't used either in years. If Marantz had one I jump on it but they were all branded Superscope and just don't fit in good with the old Marantz Stacks. When I saw cool cool carts from the Stones, Jimi Hendrix, I thought it would be nice to have a few around but there's just not enough equipment in the real world for a band to justify releasing except for a shelf piece.
