    hi
I'm from slovenia, I've always been interested in old gadgets and a couple of days ago I found an old Panasonic d-8414 at a dump. Radio works really well, but I have a problem with the cassette player, I had to clean the "magnetic head/reader"(don't know the term:), after that another problem occurred. The big elastic loop that connects the motor with the cassette spinning heads snapped, I replaced it with an elastic i found in the kitchen. Cassettes play but the sound feels like it is too slow and not as it should be. I ask if I should buy a new elastic or could the problem be in the motor?
Thank you for the answers in advance:)
I really liked this forum up until now:)

Welcome! We've all tried rubber bands in a pinch and most of the time got the same results as you. I'd check Fix Your Audio on the front page of the forum, he's in your part of the world, and has a ton of belts. I don't know your model but if he doesn't have it ebay should. If you still have the original belt measure the length and note the crossection (square, round, flat, etc), you might need this information if you can't find your model number.
