Hi everyone. Thanks for having me! I’m 42 wnd living in San Francisco. I grew up with my dad’s good stereo and various cheap boom boxes. All with cassettes of course. Not long ago I resurrected my tape collection when I found a Nakamichi BX300 in a Goodwill. My daughter just turned 14 and for her birthday she wanted a Walkman! So I found a Sony WM-D6 that needed new belts and idler, and fixed it up. Works great with the exception of the battery compartment which is why I joined up here. But I’ll post about that in another post. Thanks again for letting me join! Christopher
Welcome Christo, the world of cassettes is a fun place to be if you love music and funky gadgets to play it on. I haven't bought anything in awhile but just got a super cool Sanyo today. Hopefully your daughter likes Walkmans, for me they generated a lot of mechanical emotions and now I love taking things apart and fixing them or just checking out all of the cool features.
