    I bet if you took the control panel off that VZ-3000, the DC-7 would be close in size. I've bought boomers online and blown away by how small they were in person. Now I feel like doing a photo with tiny to large traditional looking boomboxes with the tiny Grundig MRR 100 for the first one.....

    Nice shop! Is that by you? Remember the old days when there was a big rental shop in Toronto one of the members used to score from?

    At the other end of the scale, I have a small Sharp portable (3P-40U) having a microcassette recorder, TV and AM/FM radio.
    The store, shown in my previous post, is Innovative Audio and I have bought and sold vintage audio components through them since about 2005. The last few years, I've been selling a lot more than buying. The store is about a 1.25 hour's drive from me. There is also another vintage audio store, I deal with, which is about a 50-minute drive south of me called The Turntable Shop.

    The VZ-3XXX series were mains powered home stereos with separate speakers and no attempt at portability.
    The VZ-2000 and the later VZ-2500 are true boomboxes with handles and battery compartments.
    If you haven't seen it Techmoan recently restored a VZ2000 and ends the video by using it out in his garden.

    It looks like the Techmoan gets a lot of views when he does boomboxes, it's nice seeing a classic and one of the largest ones ever.

    Cool shop Elite-ist, one of the reasons I started collecting was I thought I might someday open something similar, maybe do a co-op with local audio enthusiasts. Unfortuneately real estate here has been through the roof for the last 20 years and it would be very hard to make any profit.
