Pioneer 1991, car space was getting tight and aftermarket stereos were getting squeezed out.

A clip from a full page Comet newspaper advert in 1995. The rest was fridges and washing machines.
Even with a discount that JVC was expensive compared to everything else.

I wonder what boomboxes would have been like if they had had these new modern speakers. I'm always impressed with my TV speakers, how loud they get and the clairity.

i was wondering the same thing my speakers are only 1200 maybe less new paid 400/ i'll post a link as i can't find anything about them lad.....i took a gamble as the the tweeters are the same ones used on monitor audios 8 grand speakers the pl300.....to see them you would laugh but there so good i'm thinking of selling my missions as they need repair and there far to big......just the tweeters cost 180 pounds each new buddy on these small speakers

it brings home to me again why no boombox or walkman is worth a grand to me lad

i shouldn't say but i sold 17 boxes for a grand and the member is saying there worth nothing

then i gave him a 250 pound refund and the guy is blanking me.....it makes my fucking blood boil sorry lad.......please ban me lol

Back then the pound to dollar was like 1.5 to 1, those were really expensive and I don't think they were as popular over here. All I remember was the full-size Fisher All-In-Ones that retailed for around $350 USD and if you wanted up market, Technics would be in the $500 + range. I think my first real exposure to "mini" stereos was the in your face style like the big very-colorful with a ton of leds, JVC's.

The top Sharp would be fun to play with if you had the optional super woofer. I always find it odd with these types of minis, the more expensive it is, the better looking it gets, is that a conscience marketing decision or did they cheap out on design to get to that price point. I picked the TOTL JVC first before looking at the prices.

aiwa from 1993, they started going all-in with the mini-stereo with karoekee features. The NSX-510G looks like a beast paired with the VX-K140 monitor.
