My Mum finally got her hands on my EX2000.

She sent me these few photos of the condition and components. I'll take some proper photos of it when I bring it back to Europe in August.

It is spotless and I mean spotless. It looks like it has never, ever been used. Yet it has been played with a little, completely checked, cleaned, oiled, demagnetized blah blah. Honestly, I think it's going to take centre stage in my collection.

Bonus image at the bottom of the Saisho my Mum pulled out of storage. Still works!

Finally, a video of the device condition, operation etc.

Really have to give a big shoutout to Monkey Tape Vintage HiFi aka thebigl54.
You can see from the photos my Mum took, the care he takes in packaging and everything he does. The tape shown in the photo was a free gift.
He still has a few rare models in stock but boy are they going fast.

If you want an Ex2000 yourself? Seems he's selling one that is in almost as good condition here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/196286571005

Great pictures, and according to many the ultimate Sony super Walkman.
The W&F value seems very low, outperforming some DD units.
I would love to see measurements, as most belt driven ones are not that stable and accurate.
Nor was it needed for most of the music that was popular at the time of the release of this unit.

Apparently the low W&F is due to the very heavy brass flywheels. A lot of people said that this device was the best thing Sony ever made. In that its circuits were totally revamped, it used new capacitors and took a fraction of the battery power of previous models and produced a fraction of the line-noise of other models. I'll test it myself of course as soon as I have it in my hands.

My mother who got it said that it's a work of art and she's put it back safely away in a dry area.
