Hi. I would like to ask any of the members if you own one of these EMBASSY AB-952R 1980s walkman. I have been looking for schematics without any luck. I'm going to service it but there are a few unsoldered cables and i don't know where they must be welded. I hope any of you have one of these that could facilitate me a photo of the back of the main board. Thank you all. Photo1- EMBASSY walkman AB-952R front. Photo2- Back removed. Full main board. Photo3- Green & Yellow cables are for the speakers. I know where they belong. Photo4- White cable one side unsoldered, i don't know where to weld. Photo5- Black cable with two thin cables inside, one copper color, one green color. Green is unsoldered and i don't know where to weld.
Good luck, some of the off-brands never had any repair manuals. I'm looking at the soldering and some of it looks like it was done by hand, did somebody work on this before? Your in for a labor of love but at the end of the day it's great practice.
It is likely that the unit might have been sold under different brands in different countries. I doubt if we would have had Embassy as a brand here in the U.K. as that was already the brand for a popular make of cigarettes.
Yep, as far as i know BROKSONIC was the first to design and sell this type of walkmans and many extinct brands like EMBASSY rebranded and changed some colors and graphics. I do this now because i waited for years to learn some electronics to repair instead of dumping them like i did with a lot of Fisher, Sony, Seiko audio equipment.
