Hi there, new enthusiast here. i joined primarily for reasons of cassette culture and repair advice, but i look forward to contributing to the forum however i can.

My only working personal stereo at the moment is a WM-FX375. It meets my minimum requirements (Auto Reverse, Dolby, Type I/II/IV, removable belt clip) but i don't plan on it being my main Walkman. I want to mount it in my car using the AUX input of mu current car stereo and some clever wiring and mounting solutions (hopefully you all will be able to help with that too when the time comes).

I also have a WM-AF64 that i need help repairing, its in amazing physical shape, meets all of my criteria (except being chunky AF) but only emits a horrid squealing from the headphone output. I had suspected a capacitor or amp circuit issue, but i have yet to crack it open. I'll make a post someday in the appropriate section though.

Anyway, that's my reason for joining and my current gear and ambitions for the future. Hope to meet some cool people and see some sweet portable music devices.

    welcome to S2G lazyjackal
I have 2 WM-AF64 which have the same problem you experienced. I haven't had a chance to explore this issue yet. Most probably its coming from failed capacitors but am not sure. Please let me know if you fix this issue on your walkman

I will definitely PM you when i open mine up. Ive tried fixing a few other personal stereos, but the lack of pictures online was a real determent.

Ill be sure to take plenty of pictures when i do!
