Great idea, maybe you could make something similar to the Sony-MDR5A headphones, they're becoming increasingly sought after and are selling for thousands on ebay since GOTG2 was released.
Thats a good idea! But i take the 1000's €€€€ Sold, with Some grains of salt! I cannot believe that somebody Will give the amount for a cheap HP....
Being in the print industry myself just wanted to ask how were these printed? Were there two layers of colour? From what I can see on the originals there was a white bottom layer then the orange on top. I've tried replicating these myself with a white bottom layer and orange on top but I'm not able to get the gloss effect like the original. The original way would have been some kind of screen printing. I'm working on others at the moment. For example the labels on the rear of WM20, WM30 etc. Sourcing some adequate material to suit.
Yes. Dual ink. White base, then the orange. Digital print can't achieve that super dayglo orange compared to the old stamp print method as employed by Sony. Still, I'm really pleased with the results. I opted to get these done commercially by a market leader, as opposed to doing them myself. A decision that I think has paid off looking at the video
Yep I agree. I used a UV ink flatbed printer and got the colours spot on but the gloss effect is impossible. Anyway like I mentioned I'm keen on a set so let us know when you're ready.
There is also a very particular way to apply these. I'll do a video. It's all common sense, but will negate the need for stickers to get finger prints and oils from the skin on the adhesive side. When applied in the correct "contact free" manner, the results are awesome.
Do you expect to still have some in stock this time next week? I'm poor at the moment and I don't get paid until then.
Received my stickers safely today so thanks for posting them so quickly. The quality is fantastic! You should be very proud for having made this happen so successfully.
Just received my stickers, I thought the small one in the top left corner and the large one at the back keeping the envelope together was a nice touch! I've put the 2 big ones on my D6C and WM-4 and now they look so much better and closer to how they probably looked when they were originally produced. Here are some pictures: D6C Before: D6C After: WM-4 Before (with horrible scratch in the top-right corner): WM-4 After:
