Last weekend I went into Christchurch where there are nine Charity shops and went in each one. Having gone in the first eight and found nothing worth buying (although I noted every other one seemed to have a copy of Paul Young No Parlez) I flicked through the LPs in Breast Cancer support, and was surprised to find, amongst the usual Val Doonican ones a copy of Tomita "Snowflakes are Dancing". Released in 1974 back in the days when electronic artists listed every Moog module they had used. Definitely worth £2 since the actual LP is in very good condition. The "Turntable" is the Techmoan recommended Anabas imported from Japan. With an Audio Technica cartridge it is like a Sound Burger disguised as a toy.
Finally putting the Hi-Fi back together after moving house, nothing is properly setup yet. I have to admit my system is sounding better than it's ever sounded, it's amazing how much of a difference the room makes. Sampled Groove
Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue A friend brought this copy of Miles Davis over today, wow; this just sounds amazing. The difference between this UHQR copy and my normal copy is like chalk and cheese, I have never heard such difference in the same recording. The UHQR copy is light years ahead, yes the price is high but when you hear this copy you will forget about the price and only think about how good it sounds. He also brought over a copy of Jimi Hendrix – Are you experienced on UHQR. I have to say I have never heard Jimi Hendrix sound good, the UHQR did not change my mind, the Hendrix still sound sh!t only this time it cost a lot more money.
Kid Loco - The Rare Birds from 2019, fantastic trip hop album, highly recommended for the connaisseures here:
