Longman i think it was re-released in 1985 as it did not do too well the first time around in the UK. I think the original release was 82, 83ish in America / UK not 100% sure.

Apparently Lucky Star took two releases to chart in the U.K. eventually reaching No.14 in March or April 1984.
Until they showed the video on Top of the Pops I doubt if many people here knew who she was.
It shows the power weekly TV programme Top of the Pops had to make bands and artists back then
In "The Story Of 1988" Belinda Carlisle explained that the Go Gos didn't have any success in the U.K. (just one album made it into the Top100)
In 1988 Top of the Pops had a segment each week which they looked at what was happening in the American Charts.
After a short video clip of Belinda she soon had the Number 1 single and Number 4 album in the U.K. charts with "Heaven Is a Place on Earth".

One of her best albums with Live to Tell being my favourite track on it.
I regretted not buying a Duvet cover which was available with the same picture on it although it was only available as a single.
I could have slept with Madonna every night !

I stopped buying her albums after the 80's, she really went downhill after that.

Longman not sure you would want to sleep with her now :loldiag:.

I played Confessions on a Dance Floor recently and still think it is a good Album as was Ray of Light.
However, it seemed to me that around the turn of the century Madonna and Kylie seemed to take it in turns to release good then bad albums.
I think they both got to a level where unfortunately they no longer had people like Niles Rogers telling them what to do.
Nile Rogers has described "Like a Virgin" as almost being a Chic album with Madonna on lead vocals.
