@ mister x yes, it's my emt950. had it completely recapped couple years ago, after 30 years needed some freshness. also mc card + new tsd 15
yep, i've thought so.. i just keep it simple. my emt 950 has everything and dont need special arms cartridges or amps. bought mine for 2500 euro.. your TT path is tooo expensive for me
19lexicon78 I have never heard the EMT 950 turntable so can’t comment, but I do use an EMT cartridge the EMT JSD S 75.
i think the emt cartridges are the best bang for the buck. your cartridge costs more than my TT, 3550 euro ?? dammnn, let alone your arm and the rest.. holy sjit, prices are 100% up compared 5 years ago.. totally nutss
19lexicon78 you are correct the prices are nuts, there is no need for them to be that high but they do it because they can.
i am glad i have my setup and don't pay those prices. only thing i would want is a sonosax sx-es84 channel pre-amp, boulder power amp and a jbl 4345... if not, ach i hope you have 1000's of lp's.. i have 3500 of them, never listen to them. use youtube or cd's, i like studer d730 gustard x16 dac +senn he60.. only jazz vinyl on emt 950, is better with jbl, but that's once a 3 month
I don’t have thousands but here is my whole music collection, Cassettes, CD’s and LP’s. Click the thumb nails to see contents of albums or do a search in the top right hand corner to see if I have something in particular.
that's too much for me... which are your top 10 albums, songs? iow, which one gives most emotion? my top 2 songs pop rock nr 1: stones - let it loose... my absolute nr 1 nr:2 talk talk - i believe in you classical is total different level. you can't compare it's scriabin and only sofronitsky can play him. iow forget the stones. it's 10 level above
I don't know, all depends on what mood I am in. If I need a pick up, I always gravitate to Sounds of Blackness and Optimistic.
I'm remodeling my A/V area and setting up a proper stereo stack, can't wait to get one of my TTs back in action, I'm sick of digital music, it's too convenient to enjoy it and I have lots of albums and tapes that need some exercise.
Thank You, my friend!!! As we agreed, I will call on you when I finally get a permit to rebuild my burned home: I will pay for your stay, and efforts, and beer'n'boomboxes, and we shall spin your second copies of goodies on Technics SL-1200 donated to me by @Boodokhan... and maybe even invite him for the 'drinking sessions' Except for the 'classical' as in Brahms/Bruckner/Beethoven and some Jazz (and of course Pink Floyd), I never had any listen to any LPs of my fav tunes. I will start with Yello, as @TooCooL4 suggested to see if it makes any difference to me vs. hi-rez files
Let me know, I'll load up the van with my Makitas and some killer boombox, I've got lot's of duplicate 70's vinyl, the stuff we thought was overplayed is now the most popular and I've got lot's of copies.
