I was hoping to not make this thread. this unit had a gumstick in it when I received it, and probably for a long time. The positive battery terminal was badly corroded and the battery door was difficult to open. After cleaning the corrosion, I cleaned the pulleys, lubricated the motor, and reassembled for testing, but the unit does not respond. some of the plating came off the + terminal, but continuity is fine. I've got supply voltage across the solder joints for the + and - from the gumstick. Voltages on IC1 are all wrong. I also have continuity between W, U, and V pins on the motor, all with supply voltage on them, which I think is not correct. Furthermore, it looks like the corrosion has affected the traces around where the + terminal connects to the PCB, and the traces going to the motor pins. Pics below Is it worth removing some solder mask over those traces and trying to repair them? Is there any hope for this unit?
