I recently bought a new condition Panasonic SL-SV570. I like it a lot, but I noticed, with an MP3 CD in it, that it doesn't randomize playback well. That is, set to SHUFFLE or RND or whatever, it will repeat a song before the full CD is played through.
So, I bought a new condition Sony D-NF430. It's very similar to the Panasonic, but it seems to randomize much better, not playing songs a second time in one "play".
I wonder what difference there is, here? Is it with programming? Is it some kind of more physical thing?

I never do random so I never thought about it. It would be pretty easy to program in no-repeat before running through the whole play list, it must be designers choice and tons of focus groups.
