Funny you should mention Jethro Tull... she was a fan of him, too. But not Pink Floyd, oddly. I guess it has something to do with being 16-y/o in '61... Not too-many people of that era who remember doing The Horse so well, they got suspended from middle-school for starting a riot in the cafeteria!

BTW: She was also a big Eagles fan... Up through "Hotel California", anyway. Eclectic, huh?

Can't let this thread die. Got into Pink Floyd with the Ummagumma double album back when Sid Barrett was still with the band. That album now remixed and on 180gm vinyl if you want to spend some serious cash on it. Never got into Tull or the Eagles but Joe Walsh still has one of the great recorded guitar solos on Hotel California,IMHO, which I do have on Japanese Mini LP. Now that's a whole new thread

Not really... Those were the good'ol'days when us kids got labeled as Dorks or Cool, and the Cool Kids grabbed all the latest of the Stones, PF, Eagles. I feel more in touch today, when you can go poetic about whatever stuff you are into and find your buddies thru Fu@kBook or snapchat or whatever... If u ask me (i do realize you did not!), Eagles could as well produced Hotel and disappear, but Tull, oh Boy! His disoriented flute works thru my bones!!!
Unmagumma is right there in my personal Hall Of Fame next to Bruckner's late efforts: takes you Up There and you are forced to see that He loves you!
Re Unmagumma: One of my recent discoveries of like 20 years ago (I am That Old!): Electric Orange reinvented Careful With That Ax, Eugene! and it is worth checking out!!! Or send me a note and I will mail you CDR of an album, I support Dick thru PayPal whenever I get some extra cash, so it will stay legal:wavey:
Think Floyd did some impressive follow-ups for Pink Floyd, but Electric Orange just nailed the spirit of Ummagumma!... Peace!

Joe was deeply effective in my retro-rewind search for music I had heard prior to junior-high. Memories of my elementary school bus-driver listening to him on tape, explaining how how that sound effect--Talkbox--in the bridge of "Life's Been Good..." was achieved.

Yeah, well, don't get your hopes up too-high about her... She also liked Bonnie Tyler, Disco--must be something about being Italian at that time--and Fleetwood Mac, including the early, bluesy stuff. But then, she also got her first taste of the Blues from Bob Dylan in the day, from "Rainy Day Woman". And I will always remember how she was rockin-out with me to "Slow & Easy" by Whitesnake, and later in awe of the appearance of David Coverdale in the "Here I Go Again..." video. (She was a retired hair-designer, and loved men with long, beautiful hair)
