Some cool Sony's from 1983, USD. A very rare ad with the mini, I can't remember the model #, for $159.95. Yea, those little TVs were expensive! I made $3.35/hr part time, no way I could afford a new one.

Friday 8th November 1991 and retailers think you should be getting ready for Christmas.

I have to chuckle at the Philips "Turbo Bass". When Formula 1 was using Turbos they were more like a high pitched whine.

Saturday 13th November 1993 and the big U.K. retailers are advertising heavily with two page spreads
Comet have managed to cover three of our threads in half an advert
    1993 Comet 2.jpg

Their big rival Dixons have a good selection of portable audio. The first page was all TVs and VCRs.
That Panasonic Cobra was expensive although in 1993 it would have been the latest and greatest top of the line boombox.

Friday and Saturday in the early 1990s seem to be best for adverts. I wonder how much money Dixons made on those portable CD players ?
    1990 CDs.jpg

Philips were offering Free Concert tickets.
Wondering how much those would be worth I did a search and in 1990 you could see Hawkwind for £7.50.

An ad for Montgomery Wards, October 1980, right before Christmas. They had decent audio around this time, the components were usually branded MCI.

1983 USD, it's interesting to see where General Electric placed their offerings, more expensive than I would have thought.
