Just found out Steve Riley of LA Guns died last October. I love that band and have seen them a lot over the years. Their management used to be from around here so they were always playing somewhere. I had to look when I took this one, it was 2013, I can't remember the venue.

Seven years since I started this thread so it's time to report on Let's Rock Southampton 2024
This year the line up was
    Doctor and the Medics

Jason Donovan complete with a 1980s Kylie Look-Alike so they could perform "Especially for You"

Altered Images - who now seem to be just Clare Groghan and the house band. I bought a pre-recorded cassette of them back in the 80s. Making use of the full running time the B side was remixes of their hits.

Kim Appleby - It is sad to see her on her own. Her sister Mel died of cancer 34 years ago at just 23.

Black Lace - They managed to get a Conga going despite having none of the original lineup.

Extc - An XTC tribute formed by two former members of XTC.
I always find their song Sergeant Rock is going to help me amusing as when I was in the Air Training Corps we actually had a Sergeant Rock.

From the Jam - Another tribute this time with two original members this time of The Jam

Peter Hook and the Light - Peter was in Joy Division, New Order, and Monaco so had plenty of material to choose from.
Blue Monday, What do you want from me, and then True Faith were the highlights for me.

Level 42 - Who started out locally on the Isle of Wight, and who Phil Oakey complimented at the start of the next performance.

The Human League - Headlining again.

Worth seeing for the delightful Susan Sulley while the tracks from Dare! don't get old.
Looking on Wikipedia, Susan, Joanne, and Clare Groghan are all within a year of my age. Phil Oakey is now 68 but sounds as good as he did in the 80's.

I think I got my £50 worth for ten hours of live music :moonwalk:

Looks like fun! We don't have much going on around here, they just cancelled a big one up North. Otherwise, and now they are considered "retro", Limp Bizkit will be in town tomorrow night, I'm even considering it since it will be high energy!

There is only about ten years between Limp Bizkit and most of the Let's Rock performers. The big news from Glastonbury was that people were more excited to see the noughties band The Sugababes, than the headliner SZA who most people here had never heard of.
