Personally I love going to forums for advice and I need/use a lot of it. Everything from automotive, electronics to construction and yard work. I've seen construction failures, that I'm sure are pretty rare, that I will share on other forums to help new builders avoid problems down the road. Are all of my experiences the same as everyone else, no not really, so in the end you may generalize but with millions of portables manufactured and used in several different enviroments your going to find many different experiences.

moose, keep your eyes open, hit the garage sales, thrift stores and flea markets, you will find players. Ask your friends and look for on-line auctions at local businesses and schools, sometimes they do a few a year. Personally I don't take any of my nice players out, they get desk duty hooked up to stereo system. The WM-D6 is a brick, I've got mine sitting next to a Panasonic WAY, it's 3X bigger!
