Hey all!

It’s been a while since I last posted on here. Life got in the way, as it often does! I think I originally joined the forum back in 2018, when I was about 24 or 25. Fast forward to 2026, I’m now 33 and bought my first house back in 2024, which has allowed me to go a little wild with my collecting habits!

I’ve always been a massive fan of vintage Bang & Olufsen equipment, and since it’s a three-bedroom house, I decided to turn the second bedroom into a dedicated 1980s-inspired B&O listening room.

The setup consists of a complete Beosystem 5000 stack, a Beovision LX4500 CRT television, a Beocord VX7000 VHS recorder and, most recently, a B&O DVD-1 player, which an online friend very kindly sent me.

Last Monday, I also traded my Beocenter 2 for a pair of Beovox Penta floorstanding speakers, and I can honestly say it was one of the best swaps I’ve made. They sound absolutely fantastic!

It’s taken a couple of months to get the room looking how I wanted, but I’m really pleased with how it’s all come together.

My old bedroom setup I had at my parents’ house, is actually fairly Similar still. Still have my Marantz gear and my Wharfedale speakers although this is now pride of place in my 70s inspired living room instead. I still have the majority of the components I did back then. Although, I do rock a Philips CD-101 now and sold a couple of the cassette decks.

Anyways some pics of the two spaces below. The 80s B&O room is what I have just been finishing off.

Apart from the excellent colour matching etc. can we mention getting an MD and 8-track so close to the same design?
