Great find! I've been kind of looking for one for years, one of the best looking microcassette players of all time.

I love this one, it's extremely nice looking and the snap-on radio gives it the James Bond Seal of approval. From 1983 the Pearlcorder R905

    Hello AO, long time!

I remember the old days when you, Walkgirl, mrp32Dave, autoreverser, and more, used to post these unknown to me players, those were good times seeing someone's latest and greatest finds. Even outside of the SMCs, you members were pushing the killer Walkman and boomboxes most people never saw and I give full credit to the early members for the crazy cassette resurgence these days.

    Hello my friend,

Yes, they were fun days. When I discovered this forum in around 2000 it was the first time I was able to talk to like-minded folk who had such strong memories of these items from the early 80's and it was such fun. Naively I thought I was the only one and you wouldn't believe the prices back then. DD's for less than £20, WM2's for less, DD9's for £50. I've kept very few but the ones I have now (around 15) are the ones woth the prescious memories rather than high value though most have both.

I love your thirst for finding info on the rare stuff, exactly what this forum needs. The internet has improved so much in the last 20 years and it's become easier to find stuff.

Yep, but at the same time a lot of the early information has dissolved. Most of the free hosting sites shut down, TinyPics and a few others quit hosting free photos and we lost hundreds of websites, even this one was crippled before , I remember all the restoration threads with so much info and we can still see the threads on archive.org but it doesn't link into the discussions. Luckily Michelle restored a ton of old data but it doesn't go to the beginning.

Anyway, you original members need a lot of credit for kicking the cassette craze back into gear. You'd probably sh*t if you saw all the gear I've bought over the years, usually after researching the old threads. Oddly we don't get a ton of posters but some of these threads get a bizzillion looks.

I might have a near trip to the EU, I might have to stop in a few spots and see how you guys roll. Beer and Boomboxes, European Style!

Very rare Sony m98 full logic microcassette from 2002. Mono only but very good quality. The headphone output is mono in both ears so is very pleasant to listen with normal headphones [IMG].

Interesting, can you post the info on the back? Do you know if the same company also made boomboxes?

WOW! One finally came up for sale but it isn't cheap, the 1981 Technics M212 tape deck with stereo microcassette. It's kind of cool how the decks have their own separate personalities.

This sold on Reverb a couple years ago but I don't think this model has been posted, the JVC D-M3, follow the link for more photos.

It's interesting it has the German HiFi Sticker, I thought this meant 20 Hz to 20 KHz and I thought MC only went to something like 16 KHz?
