Reading from websites over there, the dual well boomboxes were popular for copying tapes and some of these boomboxes were several weeks or years of salary. It seem the Sharp GF-777 was considered the cream of the crop and it had dual wells. I still can't find any info related to it being manufactured in China but I think members have said it was possible.
