Couple of Sony ads I found on Tumbler, there was a cool Japanese member on there who had all kinds of cool adverts for all sorts of things

I've never seen the FM radio and Walkman advertised worn together, it looks pretty nice!

Sony Watchman from 1983, I don't think I have this model but it's one of the cooler ones. We wanted watch size and this was the smallest we could get at the time.

Sony 1974, brought to you by Superscope. Sony must have been going crazy when Superscope bought Standard Radio around this time, then they started putting out competing products.

Sony Accessories from 1981, I love this kind of stuff, I saw a tape eraser last weekend at the big flea market but I bought a vintage drafting table chair and forgot to swing by the other booth. Then Techmoan does a review of it a few days ago, the one I saw was mint in the box, it might have been older, it looked just like the early 70's Sony Portable Mono Tape Players.

Those solar batteries were neat but pretty expensive.

Looking at it again and actually thinking, the unit must be a battery pack, it would be nice to see the insides.

Yep. And I bet the solar would take a day of full sun to charge it.

    Sony CF-200A $109 and CF-320 $139. I don’t know the year but I assume ‘70s.

I don’t know Sony history but why does it say A Product From Superscope.. were they importers for the US or something (me being Australian, I don’t know)

There's a few stories floating around the internet of Superscope shopping around Japan for supcontractors in the early 1960's; upon seeing the latest and greatest reel to reel from Sony, they bought the whole production. During this time they also signed a USA Distribution Agreement for the tape products that lasted until 1979. There might have been a lot of infighting when Superscope also manufactured and marketed very similar products during the 70's and there were a few lawsuits.

Cassettes were so cool when new, even with crappy sonics and mono recording/playback we all wanted one!

Found over on Twitter Japan, sorry can't read the poster name....
The Sony D-50MkII, check out the optional FM Transmitter! It was never sold in the USA but I love grabbing the units that can transmit over FM, they tend to be rare here.

Another Twitter Find, the Sony WA-8000, I love this style and would have been in heaven as a kid with one but it was super expensive and I never saw anything this nice at our local stores.
