So I have acquired and repaired a Sony WM-F200 Recording walkman it needed a new belt (of course) and the battery terminals were in a need of a good clean so after doing all of that it sprang to life working as it should HOWEVER the cassette door seems to be loose while the unit came to me missing some screws about 4 I was able to scrounge from my loose screws on my bench and replaced them with same sized ones. I have attached some pics for reference while this unit differs from the WM-F100 because it records it seems to be lacking the springiness of the door opening or popping open when the stop button is pressed and seems to not close or have the tension to close where there is no gap between the cassette door and the plastic chrome ill call it "trim" around the function buttons. I have read the service manual and I am guessing there could be a spring missing as this unit looks like it might have been tinkered with before but looking for some expert eyes to give me some feedback, or if someone else might be able to fix this or suggest what is wrong, its too nice a unit for it not to be functioning 100% Thanks!
It's hard to tell from that view, do you have a view of the back where the door is attached? I'm wondering if there's a small pin riding in a slot that gives it some tension, maybe it broke off.
