    Hi.

I'm currently replacing the capstans, belts and pinch rollers on my Sony WM-DD9.
I used Valentin's tutorial ( https://stereo2go.com/forums/threads/wm-dd9-restoration-tutorial.11142/ ) but I won't touch any of the gears. Rubber parts only.

I'm worry because I found a piece under the red marked motor and I don't know where it came from (see attached picture)

Capstans and belts are replaced but I won't go further until I know where does this piece go.

    I searched on the datasheet ( https://walkman.land/document/7/Sony-WM-DD9-Service-Manualpdf#top ) but I couldn't find it.

    Any ideas ?

    Thank you.

It fits under one of the screws which hold the left hand capstan retainer in place, as shown on the attached photo.

Thank you very much. You saved me.

Is there a way to replace the pinch rollers without removing the frame and the 2 PCBs ?

Simplest way to replace the roller is to just push the pins put without removing the carriage. However wouldn't recommend that.
Otherwise you do need to remove the stoppers that keep the 2 springs, otherwise carriage won't tilt more than normal.
