I recently bought a Sony WM-F18 off eBay that looked alright and when it arrived I noticed the battery contacts were pretty corroded. I thought, no problem, some vinegar will clean that right up. Then I opened it up... That's after cleaning most of the gunk off. Seems the battery leaked over a bit of the mainboard, eating at the traces. Continuity tests seem pretty bad, some parts of the trace seem ok but I can't get much of anything off the contacts, especially the bottom. Needless to say it doesn't power on with batteries in it. Not really sure if it's even fixable at this point. Any tips or suggestions? Aaand I just realized I posted in the wrong section. Could a mod please move this to the Walkman Tech Talk section?
