Rah-rah mate, you must have forgotten to charge them.. ;)

I have got maybe 6 or 7 Eco-Drives - not a single issue, the oldest is now bout 20 years old,
still working like new. But this Ctizen Super-Quartz cost about a grand back then.

BTW, if someone looks for good hightech watches from 2000-s
Citizen E510 (my first pic) -

E510 caliber from Citizen was quite sophisticated -
Eco-Drive, Perpetual Calendar, and most fascinating - HAQ
or Super-Quartz - High Accurancy Quartz (+/- 15 sec per year!)

    E510 with thermocompensation
was one of the greatest Citizen HAQ calibers (apart from Chronomaster ones - very expensive TOTL )
    in the beginning of 200o-s.
Unfortunately they decided to disciontinue it probably due to internal competition with Chronomasters.

E510 watches cost about $1000 and less when new
while Chronomasters only started from $2000+ and went higher up ..

They (E510) cost $1000 about 15-20 years ago, new, :) Reno, now you can find them
in the 100 (Yahoo JP) -400 (Epay of course :)) $ range used of course..
I bought mine for circa $100 on Yahoo JP.

There is (was) another Exceed model on E510 caliber, with more modern looks.

    Take care, mate!

So the watch ad thread is getting some looks, I'll try to ad some other brands, I love all of this stuff and going through old magazines is pretty fun when I'm working the phones. Here's a cool 1989 ad for the Citizen ProMaster.

From 1993, I had this watch from the mid-80's, Swiss Made, very nice design and they were built like a tank. Marlboro used to have swag for people that smoked alot, some of my friends were puffers and actually had enough points to get freebies and Marlboro didn't disappoint, they had some nice stuff in the catalog. I should get on Ebay and get some of the clothing, it would be fun to see the reaction these days.

From 1996, Swiss Army Victorinox really hit a sweet spot with the watch line, more beefy than Swatch, starting at $150.00 USD and some really nice designs.

Seeing a 1978 advert for Casio made me seek out this one.
    Casio F100.jpg
The first Casio plastic/resin watch and my birthday present back in 1978.
I still have it somewhere but it quickly got very beat up with a cracked glass etc.
A shame because the film "Alien" made them quite valuable.

This looks like it could be very neat looking at dusk, the Citizen TimeTrack Digi-ANA from 1981. This comes out of Pacific Islander Monthly, I would have expected more rugged watches being advertised.

A really early Seiko LCD Watch from 1976, I wonder how much that was at the time and how many people tossed them out.

Some beautiful Seiko's from 1972 and 1974. When I do dishes I watch YouTube Videos of watch restorations, it looks like a supercool hobby but sadly I barely have time for boombox and Walkmans.
