sir, this time you‘re wrong, the german company Schneider had a complete different logo. even in the whole wide web i can‘t find a connection to france anywhere...

    upload_2020-7-25_22-17-19.jpeg

...wich is actually stunning that e french company used a german sounding name - for another strange Cloneman.
this time labelled „made in Taiwan“. in my list of Clonemen there‘s Taiwan, China, Japan, HongKong...

I don't have a lot of portable cassette players but my Mostone Playmate SC-668 is by far my favorite listening device! Last week it ate a tape so yesterday i brought it to the repair guy. I hope nothing is going on. It's sturdy, a brick, with nice features - double headphone jacks! -
What a great collection you have there!

Well, my Playmate is fixed. Here is a little video:

I didn't adjust the sound as I should be during recording, so there is some distortion, but on headphones the sound is much better.
Still tinkering on how to record, if I have the time.

    Edit:
    3x aa battery
    or
    DC 4.5 V

    made in Hong Kong

    stereo
    rewind
    forward
    talk line
    tone hi/lo
    left/right volume
    2x headphones

music: Depeche Mode - Leave in Silence
cassette tape: FE60 Recording the Masters

source recording: on a JVC TD-W201
from YouTube video through smartphone Kodak Ektra

    this video is recorded with:
    smartphone: Kodak Ektra
    app: Open Camera
    1x audio splitter
    2x 3.5 mm cable
    1x Speedlink soundcard
    usb to usb-c adapter

    Sennheiser HD-202 headphones

Nice! The high notes are missing, but it might just be the vocals, overall there's a lot of definition in the music. Much better than some of the old stuff I mess around with.

I used to mess around a lot with recording old cassettes to the computer, it's pretty fun it you have the time. I used to go direct from a JVC to the input jacks on my computer and used an old Sony Program to look at the wave forms to control distortion and where to cut the songs. Those early days were fun, but like any audio, you start going down the hole and your looking how you can improve the sound quality.

yay, nice real Cloneman and one i don‘t have ! congrats !

there‘s NO WAY to record with your playmate, there‘s just a „talk“ function, like on Sony‘s tps-l2...

Yes, i know the Playmate has no recording function. I meant by "recording" how to record direct from cassette-player to video-recording for the purpose to show on Youtube. The audio was to loud during video-recording, that's why it's sounding a little distorted.

I don't know if this one has been discussed before, I can't find any info with a quick search.

I've always been more interested at the "larger brand" versions of the Clones, so I immediately snatched this one up from an ad with a blurry picture. I'm quite surprised when I found out that it doesn't have a model number? As far as early Philips walkmans are concerned, I only know of the Skymaster line. So it'd be interesting to see where this Stereo on the Go fits.

I think I've another one of those. There's at least one from a local brand. I'll post a picture when I can find it.
