I've never really got into PC or console gaming despite having a N64, Dreamcast,(both bought new) and a PS2, which I bought boxed a car boot sale for £20 after thinking it was mean of the bloke in front to try and get the teenage girl selling it to reduce the price down from that. I doubt if any of them have been played by me for over 50 hours. I just find most games too frustrating.

I would far rather window shop for items on eBay. Occasionally I will actually buy something. I have got another Walkman on the way for £11, after buying the same model at the local car boot sale, spending more than I paid for the Walkman (the old one had turned to goo) but then finding it had a couple of other problems like uneven balance.

that's why i don't like new games Longman, you have to be a brain surgeon to play them also take about an hour to register them then an hour to get them to work, also you must spend 2 grand on a graphics card just to get them to work lad..............fook that for a game of soldiers lol

also 4 hours just to download a game lol, i deleted my steam account about a year ago

Mr x if the gear you have cost virtually nothing then you have nothing to lose by keeping it lad same for longman.......

that is why i gave most of mine away as they were old and had issues also needed the room....i will not sell things on ebay that don't work as intended there is enough of that crap on there already lol........i have room now though as 70% of the boxes are gone lads

i guess I'll just keep the rest as ornaments to remind me of better times lads

as for the d5 pro2, i wouldn't want one looks far to big and looks nothing like a walkman also no dolby c....the dd9 is poor sounding low amplification but match it with the correct headphones and it was great, mine actually had slightly more body than the d6c but both walkmans were great imho, are they worth what people are asking now, hell no i would rather buy some coke and be smacked of my face for a few days lol

    @Radio Raheem
it's the d5 pro 2 you want to have. there is no walkman which is at that level build quality + best complete all-round sound. you don't need dolby C, unless the best cassetedeck and perfect recapped calibrated. it has to be perfect, otherwise dolby sucks.
after 20 years, as portable i would choose dc2. walkman best of all=tcd5 pro2.
    but hey who am I..
    reminds of the discussions 20 years ago. what's a dd9 or dc2????

I respect you're opinion bro...my buying walkman days are over though as i never go anywhere these days, had 99% of the good walkmans though so all good....yes dolby c sucks unless it is calibrated correctly and is not much use if im honest, it was just something i looked upto as i could never afford a good walkman back in the day i was to busy buying boomboxes lol, i think my first was a d6c which i swapped for a megadrive as it needed repairs back in the early 90's

evening toocool, had 2 d6c in my life last one cost £100 off ebay about 4 years ago swapped it with a member for 2 aiwa walkmans with dolby c, as you know a great walkman but i found them to bulky....wouldn't mind a dc2 but there always broken and im not paying the premium prices for a working one

Hi Radio Raheem I had 3 D6C’s sold one to a member on here as I don’t need 3. I am just going to get one of my D6C’s serviced by Deb64, once done I want to swap it for something as I don’t need 2. I don’t use the D6C’s as much.

I had 7 x DC2’s chasing the perfect 1. I gave one away to a member on here after he fixed a load of broken centre gears for me.
I had Doctor Walkman build 3 good units from the rest, I sold 1. I now have 2 left, those I will be keeping.

i found the high end aiwas better than the sonys but in truth they all rely on those plastic battery compartments that break if you blink and the construction of them is nothing like a d6c

I use to have Aiwa's all the time them I switched to Sony. I have Aiwa HS-JX101, Aiwa HS-JX303, Aiwa HS-JX505 and Aiwa HS-JX707. There is still an Aiwa I want to try but they never come up and when they do they are either broken or cost a packet. The last one I saw was was from Agentorange and it went for a packet.

I had about 7 of them gave them away as none of them worked, im not into selling things that don't work

have 1 left but don't know where it is it's a rare one that was only available in japan and is probably worth a grand these days
if it is still working and in good condition. Nice to see you giving things an overhaul before selling them TC

For some of these Aiwa portables there is a quick fix. I mean, you need to be able to cut into a soda can, but for the rest...
I found a relatively cheap solution by reading most of the threads here and on other sites.
When I tried to order the tiny 1.2 gumstick (not regular Panasonic or Sony walkman size), they were not readily available due to the Cove.
I ordering a seemingly non related replacement battery for a Siemens Gigaset phone via Amazon for 6 euros, bit of a gamble but it looked like the right size when I looked at the pictures.
See for more info this thread and my post http://stereo2go.com/forums/threads/does-anyone-sell-rebuilt-aiwa-pb-s5a-or-similar.5482/#post-53277
