While looking I found this cutsheet over on ebay, I really should buy it, hopefully he'll offer a discount. It look like the box came out in 1977. The front speaker panel can be removed if you want a cool speaker look, there's also a tuning knob under it.

From 1988, unfortunately I can't read it but I think it talks about marantz and YAESU merging and reforming Standard.

Found an ad from 1982 for one of the cool little Marantz Boomboxes. I like Marantz Boomboxes from this era but the stereo equipment mostly stunk. Check out the Mitsubishi Verticle, big money!

Not how the new spamming works but this image had another site's link but it showed up on this forum's picture folder? Can't remember if this was posted already?

A Standard Car Radio Cassette Player, this look early 70's, probably from just before Superscope bought them. This looks like a heavy duty player, I wonder how it stacked up against a Sony at the time.

From Popular Mechanics 1979, a Marantz CAR Stereo. Audio dealers loved "discounting" equipment so the 30% off sounds right, you'd go in and the more stuff you bought, the better the discount from the salesguy.

Found over on X with the following description, I think Haruko is the young lady (singer) that's in the photos. Anybody have both the CS-J21 and the UNIX or Sansui Version of this boomer to confirm?
"The base of Haruko's radio cassette player is AIWA CS-J21. Maybe it's because Aiwa Iwate was located in Yahaba-cho? In any case, the unix radio cassette player manufactured by Miyako Audio would have been more like Kita-Sanriku"

Sansui FX-300r is the model number in my container of little tiny boomboxes.

Do you have the AIWA CS-J1, do they look the same? I can only find internet photos to compare. I have the Sansui, I don't think they sold the Bustang in the USA.
