Just found this on a local Irish buy-and-sell site. Does anyone have any information about this model? I’ve found a little info so far using AI, but not much. I realy like the design of it. Will be testing soon.
The absence of a rewind button suggests it was a very cheap model when new. My guess would be under £20. I agree that the styling is quite nice. Without looking at the name I would have guessed it was a Saisho, although it is quite possible Saishos were made in the same factory. p.s Made In Korea dates it back to the early 1990s or before. After that production of cheap stuff started to shift to China.
It looks to be later 80's? There's a few Unitech Discussions on here, they had some really neat boomboxes and portables but they also had a ton of mass-merchandised products. I haven't been able to find a good source of info on the company yet but every year more stuff pops up on the internet especially with vintage electronics. Is that a TDK MA-R in the photo below!!!? It probably cost more than the player.
