What a complicated device! A Westman clone from Hong Kong, rebranded by the Dutch company Vendex as Vendomatic, subsequently equipped for the German market. Featuring the "Moving Sound" slogan later (?) used by Philips for its line of portable devices. I'm very curious about what the story behind this could be. Anyway, I like the way it looks in silver. Nice find Black Fingers :)

LOL, yeah its something....but when looking up that Westman on radio museum, that was for the German market, die Sound von der West, even the manual is bedieningsanleitung.....so thats one thing...
The fact is that Audio Sonic from Amsterdam had the same walkman under the name CT-102, which also had the Moving Sound slogan....i think the bastards of Philips just knicked it and used it for their own line of crap walkmans....
But to rebrand this walkman all yo have to do is the change the door and labelling and you're done...maybe Vendex bought some surplus machines from Audio Sonic or they just ordered together in the far east :)

I also love the way it looks especially they blue vs the silver.....clean machine but unfortunatly not rnning due to a missing motor...
Seller on marktplaats said it only needed a new belt but he lied to me....
So if anyon has a spare motor that rns on 4.5V let me know :)

Countless numbers of these same Walkmans were made, all with different brands and appearances (aka's). I quickly thought I thought they were from Hong Kong, but I guess that's not correct. A quick search reveals that Autoreverser long ago discovered that they originated from Goldstar. There used to be many informative threads about these models on the old forum.

Finding a motor won't be difficult. If you're on the lookout, various versions often appear on auction sites for very little money.

Attached is the service manual of a Grundig aka.

Thanks for that SM, i have the SM of this V&D walkman in Audio Sonic CT102 form...unfortunatly it doesn't have the motor part number.
And tbh i don't like salvaging working machines for parts, goes against my principles, besides that people nowadays want big bucks for these clones so to get a cheap one..... Maybe if i find one thats in horrible cosmetic condition i might consider it but it's not high on my priority list tbh...just love the looks and thats good enough for now. :)

ps. Just had a look at that Grundig sm and all components seem to be Japanese, 2SC, 2SA transistors, Toshiba LA4140 opamps....probably will have a Mabuchi motor....tbc
