1000 models online, a milleversary!
Not that long ago we celebrated the 500th model live - now we are at 1000! Since Oct. 2024, the 500th milestone, we did make a lot of changes to the site. From changing the search method, to introducing a new tech gallery (for logged in users), suggestion model improvements, and much more. We never thought we would get this far.

 

I would like to point out 3 of the enhancements that were made available recently.

1. Advanced search method
This will help to easier locate the right unit and slice and dice the records in our database.


2. Tech photos
We added another gallery, containing photos of the PCB, mechanism, etc.
These are only visible for logged in users. The example below is of the Panasonic RQ-NX60V:


3. Catalogs, brochures and other documents linked to several models.
This will allow us to store more documents, while avoiding duplicates.
We started with a few catalogs and brochures, like the 1985-03 - AIWA Catalog Japan.pdf:

I'm not sure how to navigate this Korean blog, but there are several contributors who post a lot of content about repairing Walkmen. Deja Vu in particular has posted hundreds of photos of the insides of them.

Others are Choksan guest and Park Jonathan.

Doing a search for a model name seems to work to locate their content.

Another small update

Happy to announce that I have joined the team at WML as an editor. In the beginning i will make small changes to incorrect data on the model pages and eventually i hope i will be able to function as a full admin and can add new models to the site.
@Emiel will guide me through the process.
Hope my knowledge and love for walkmans will help to build the best walkman database there is.
