In case this hasn't been linked on stereo2go before, here's a blogger in South Korea who has repaired hundreds of Walkmen and posts brief humorous descriptions.

Also a good source of photos of the insides of the devices.

Great site. These days, I always look for photos of opened Walkmans before I open one. Simply because it makes it much easier to know what to expect. This blog post shows exactly the right photos with the most common defects. Not too much information, but just enough to get a good impression. I've bookmarked it. Thanks for sharing :)

They also do Discman. I think they repair units sent by customers rather than buying units and refurbishing them for resale. It's unclear if they do much recapping.

I'm interested in the Aiwa's using the 2ME-7 mechanism. There is a photo of a box of donor HS-J9/09/600 parts. It looks like they use a high proportion of donor units. I'd like to figure out how to communicate with them to see if they'd sell any parts, such as equalizers.

Their repairs don't seem to include the return springs for the erase head guides on these mechanisms. I've found at least half of these models need this repair and I could inform them of the repair I posted on this site.
