I didnt really intend to update this but ive gotten more messages about the other cover, so i decided id try finishing it. Slightly unusual looking but i swear its way more practical
Since using 2 different types of resin just to make a little spring was not practical, and likely to still break long-term, i changed it to use a real spring. If measurements off digikey are accurate this should work fine, but as its untested i want to verify first
Latch housing will be required for clearance reasons, as the spring is thick it had to be changed. It uses a plunging part that mounts in a recess to slide with 2.5mm travel (latch length), given its size i mainly want to see if it can hold up without being too fragile. I tried strengthening it with some fins (and for stability) but no telling how itll hold in practice. That and unsure how the actual spring size may differ, fitting 100% in the recesses i made, so that is another factor. Note cylindrical parts are meant to be placeholders for the springs at 7.5mm in length. I still need to add pegs for them to seat on but that will be done shortly after posting this
Heres an image or two of it. 3D printer needs a new fep sheet, and resin after mine exploded during moving, unable rn as broke(college), so im asking if anyone would like to test it. Once verified as functional ill update this, note itll be posted to thingiverse when/if it is
Depending how it holds up i already have a few ideas for alterations, they are just a lot more re-design heavy compared to what i have here. So i opted for trying the simple approach first(since coursework is already taking much of my time lately)
Any issues with it ill just ask what failed, clearance concerns, and revise it on my end. I only need someone to try it out, noting you *will* most likely need a resin printer for this to be accurate.

if you wanna test it message me here, gmail: sonywalkmanrepair@gmail.com, or discord: .squiggly if you have a discord account (my personal so its a tad goofy). Discord fastest- stereo2go second- gmail may take a day or two to see
