    Hi everybody,

I got a beautiful WM-D6C and it seems to work fine, clear sound and no clicking.
The only problem is that its super quiet and I can’t adjust the headphone volume.
Why could that be and how do I fix it?

It can be one of several issues but I always start with the easy stuff and I don't know your skill level. FaderLube the volume switch first, our old member ARKAY wrote this DeOxit Guide over on AudioKarma, because the volume adjustment slides there might be sliding materials which the DeOxit will attack. You may have different but similar sprays over there, check the guitar stores, they use the sprays extensively with electric musical equipment, get both, one for metal and one for sliding switches.

What headphones are you using? Newer headphones might not work with the old tape players, I'm not an expert on this but the issue has been brought up on here before. Is it quiet on both headphone jacks?
There's a stereo line out on the back, you could go from 3.5mm to split L & R RCA connections and try it on a home stereo or boombox with AUX in.

If the unit hasn't been used in a while it wouldn't surprise me if the volume needed a good cleaning, they get corrosion on the surface.

Believe it or not, some guys are particular with their equipment, this was posted in the boombox section and some of the Walkman Repair Guys might not see it.
