I posted this in the wrong sub-forum originally, so apologies for that.

I recently bought a Sony WM-F18 off eBay that looked alright and when it arrived I noticed the battery contacts were pretty corroded. I thought, no problem, some vinegar will clean that right up. Then I opened it up...

That's after cleaning most of the gunk off. Seems the battery leaked over a bit of the mainboard, eating at the traces. Continuity tests seem pretty bad, some parts of the trace seem ok but I can't get much of anything off the contacts, especially the bottom. Needless to say it doesn't power on with batteries in it. Not really sure if it's even fixable at this point. Any tips or suggestions?

Good luck, corrosion is the worse issue, I tend to put those up high on the shelf. There is a unit on Ebay with similar markings but it's advertised as working, you can zoom in on it's board better. I'm surprised those F-18's are getting good money, I think I have one buried in a box somewhere but never really paid much attention to it.
