After the red and yellow walkmans in recent posts, I thought it will be cool to see white walkmans. White is the "color" of purity and cleanness, and so this beautiful walkmans suggest. I put color between quotes, because in colorimetry, white is not exactly a color, but a lack of it, as well as black (the lack of color and light).

Many of these models are very very rare to find, and except the WM-EX615 or even the WM-F107 sports.

So I put together all my white walkmans, to see how do they look, and here they are:

Nice, huh? I was delighted to see how beautiful they are together.

Starting from upper left corner, we can see the white 701C (in fact, the lower version 702, without dolby C):

then we have the WM-600, which can be considered a sucessor of the 701C like the EX80, but with less features. the body is metallic:

Then it is the WM-109, probably the first white, glossy music player ever released:

then we have the WM-52, a strange model that allows to keep the earphones inside the walkman :-O. It's one of the few with a plastic body:

The EX615 is one of the first models with the modern "walkman" logo. Fully metalic body:

This AIWA PL50 is a very thin walkman that sounds so well, with DSL and amorphous head. Its also metallic. Mine is serviced and fully working:

The WM-F107 is one of the most special, and the unique walkman with a solar panel to recharge the battery while doing sports outside. Mine is repaired and working:

The unique Sharp JC-AV1 is one of the most rare of all them. It's a unique walkman that combines tape player, radio and TV player! The japanese version is even rarer, and it features Dolby too:

The Kenwood CP-C7 is, together with the 702, the most stylish. It has Dolby C. Metallic too:

And the white JJ-P5 from Sanyo, the smallest walkman ever released completes my series:

This is almost identical to the JJ-P4, with the adition of the EBSS bass system. It features a bi-azimuth head alignment system too!

Great Day Hugo !   Thank you for creating this topic.  You have a large wonderful and rare collection of WHITE Walkman.  Bravisimo......  I dug through my collection and managed to also find 10 White Walkman.   I will post later tonight individual photos and descriptions when I have more time.

          Mine also is fully working.  A most rare find you have one that is

          still very white.

AIWA  HS-SP500  Very unusual it has headphones with flashing RED lights on side

          as safety feature when jogging.  Sadly it must have sat in store

          window in UK as front is yellowed but back is White.  I got it NIB.

You can get reverse the yellowing as it's cause by a chemical  reaction that occurs when it is exposed to light, oils, etc and flame-retardant chemicals to meet safety guidelines. Their is a way to reverse it. You need 12 percent hydro perox half a pint, then add 2 teaspoon corn starch to thicken the solution mix it, then put in microwave for 45 seconds, then after microwaving not before then add the teaspoon of oxygen cleaner it going to react while mixing again,  then remove part that need reversing paint the jelly solution it will be on their and leave in sun for a couple of days, look like brandnew original color after done. This can be used on all plastics that turn yellow and reversed the plastic brittleness to.

Nice to see your white walkmans. It's so curious that we only match the SONE EX615 and the WM-F107 sports solar.

I usually refrain from choosing white colored electronics due to yellowing. Flame retardants is quite a large factor in yellowing in consumer electronics. Just look at some early PCs and SNES...

I downloaded them and perform a quick optimization over the images. I thought that white walkmans have to be seen in white, not yellowish ;-)

I eliminated the yellow color, make them a bit lighter and rotate. I think now they look much better.

By the way: you try the "tungsten" manual setting of the white balance. With that kind of light you probably get better results.

Oh, and I suggest you to disable the date stamp. This date can be easily seen in the internal data of the image, avoiding deteriorating the very image.

Will this also work on blue?  I have a blue Sony WM-F107 that has turned a little green from sun light.  If I could make is look new like that again, it would make my day.  But I don't want to damage the walkman though.  Thanks for the help.

It will work as it reverses the reaction, doesn't matter color. Just don't use anything over 12 percent hydro perox, otherwise you could risk damaging the plastic.
